Suffering is Exhausting

Relief is Possible

Have you ever wished there was an instruction manual for how to be calmer, less reactive, less anxious, less exhausted? To suffer less and enjoy more?

I have good news for you. A set of instructions and practices does, in fact, exist.

Over more than three thousand years, practitioners of yoga have systematically and practically set out to provide a “how to” manual to reduce suffering. It truly is a guidebook for realizing the sources of suffering, and for sitting with the hard parts of life so you can find your way back to joy.

I know this not only as a scholar and teacher of yoga, but from personal experience. Yoga can help.

Whatever is causing your suffering, yoga offers a systematic, compassionate, energizing approach to finding peace in your body, discovering who you really are, sitting with even the most difficult situations—and achieving liberation and peace despite them.

My therapeutic yoga practice offers an individualized map to the self-realization, calm centeredness, and relief of yoga, with me as a guide to sit with you, guide you along the path, and help you hold everything that needs to be held while you find your way.

If that sounds good, schedule a call with me to discover your own practice.

Meet Mark (They/Them)

I discovered yoga more than 25 years ago, and it has been a guiding light through trauma, recovery, divorce, and a midlife gender and sexuality awakening. My life has not been easy or simple, but my practice has been with me through it all. I’ve worked in nonprofits and academia. I’ve been a researcher and a writer. But nothing has brought me the fulfillment, the meaning, or the joy I’ve found in this ancient, but always relevant, practice.

In addition to yoga, I spent ten years as a college professor and another ten years working in nonprofits and corporate leadership, in roles ranging from strategic planning and leadership to research and program development.

My coaching practice combines these elements into one unique, holistic approach. I combine best-practice coaching methods, personality assessments, and goal setting with the embodied skills of yoga. The result is that you not only know where you want to go and how to get there, but have a practice that directly develops the strength, flexibility, mental clarity, and focus to achieve those dreams.

It’s a powerful combination, and I would love to share it with you.
